What kind of facial hair should I go for?

I have really short red hair. I'm not sure whether to grow a short beard, a goatee (with or without mustache?), or a "line beard". I'm *not* going clean shaven, so don't even suggest it, lol. That said, I just want to get just suggestions and oppinions about facial hair styles. Ya know, with my red hair and all, if a beard is gonna make me look Amish or like Chuck Norris, then I know to steer clear of those choices.

Also, I'm kind of heavy set, so keep away from anything too "pretty boy-ish".

I love super short beards that look like maintained stubble. Just make sure you keep it in good shape (short/trimmed and shave any excess neck hair etc.) I think it'd look nice on a redhead because it wouldn't be too overbearing/obnoxious looking (like a full ZZ Top beard) and it wouldn't be played out (like a goatee). Yay for stubble beards!

my boyfriend has red facial hair too. he usually has a beard that blends with his sideburns. it doesnt look good when it's too bushy, so keep it trimmed short. also, trim or shave shorter especially on your neck to avoid the amish/norris look. and line beards are tacky, just say no.

I currently have a line beard with a mustache. It was a goatee a while back, and I wasn't sure (like you) of what to do - so I grew a jaw line beard and I keep my goatee trimmed really close. I may shave the mustache soon.

I think a red line beard with no mustache would look pretty cool.
