Multi-colored facial hair?

Is that common?

I have natural dark brown hair, but my facial hair is a combination of blonde, red, and brown (wish I had a pic but I don't). Sometimes it looks more blonde other times you can see the red in it. Is that unusual mutation or is it more common than I think?

My boyfriend has black, brown and a lot of red in his facial hair, and he has natural dark hair. All of his friends have facial hair that is a mix of blonde and red or dark and red and blonde.

These are areas where men don't usually have any hair growing (I've looked at quite a lot of pictures of people who even have beards, this region is higher than that). Im 16 and my facial hair is growing, but it has patches in between that have no hair growing. Will it start to grow propberly in time. It all depends on genetics. You still have time for those hormones to kick in and fill it out or that may just be the way it's going to grow. Look at your father and grandfathers...what do their facial hairlines look like? Chances are yours will be similar. They say genetic baldness is linked to the mother's father. This could be true for facial hair as well. So maybe take a good look at your maternal grandfather.
